England

Land of hope and glory, fish, chips and cup o’ tea

England has much to offer the tourist, beyond the sprawling metropolis of London there are many cities worth visiting, plus beautiful countryside, meadows and mountains, quaint villages, historic castles, music, culture and the food is (usually) better than its reputation. It also has possibly the greatest concentration of regional accents of any country, with people sounding very different in locations only a few miles apart. As the saying goes, in England a hundred miles is a long way, and in America a hundred years is a long time.

I’ve lived in England a couple of times while growing up and as an adult, and visit family and friends regularly “down south”. My trips tend to be mostly for those reasons as opposed to pure tourism, and as a result I feel like there’s still a lot I need to see.
